Absentee Policy: When a student is going to miss a day, the parent will call 369-3231 at any time. An answering system operates 24 hours a day.
Counseling: This service is available to all students as individuals or in small groups. Students may make appointments by signing up in the office. Parents may call for an appointment. Parental participation is encouraged. Counselors, who provide academic, social, and emotional support, act as liaisons between students, parents, and teachers.
Class Schedule: Classes are arranged in seven 48 minute
sessions,
plus a daily Seminar Period of approximately 30 minutes. Junior High "exploratory" classes meet on a
rotating basis for 9 or 18 weeks.
Basic Courses: High School
Junior High: Fine arts exploratory for all seventh and eighth graders, physical education, health, computers, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Junior High Exploratory Classes:
7th Grade: Band, Choir, technology education, keyboarding/Internet, computer,
service learning, international cultures, speech, Science Alive!
8th Grade: Band, Choir, technology education, computer, careers, woodshop
Grading Periods: 4 times a year, plus 4 interim progress reports
Testing: Seventh, eighth, ninth and eleventh grade students take the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP). Other assessments are used to identify student skill levels and analyze student growth throughout the year.
Special Academic Classes: These are offered for students who need additional academic attention.
Media Center: The media center serves as an extension of the classroom by providing reference, research, and supplemental materials. It is coordinated by a certified media consultant assisted by a paraprofessional.

Five (four full and one mini) computer laboratories equipped with computers and appropriate components, staffed by a teacher lab coordinator, a wireless computer lab, as well as two student computers in every room.·
Two counselors available to 7th - 12th grade students and their parents, day and evening parent-teacher conferences and interim progress reports· Award-winning programs, including yearbook, and FFA chapter and agriscience program
· Separate instrumental and vocal music rooms designed specifically for band and choir
· Four year partnership with Michiana Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Bronson Youth and Family Center: twenty-four high school students serve as mentors for at-risk elementary students, working with them for one hour each week

Breakfast and Lunches are prepaid or paid for daily.
The cafeteria provides breakfast, hot lunch and a la carte items.

Built: 1964. Originally housed 9th -12th grades until 7th -8th was transferred from Chicago Street School in 1980 . A Science/Technology addition was completed in 1998. A Weight and Wrestling/All-Purpose Room addition was completed in September 2002.
